PSLU Wins the All-Russian Competition for the Best Dormitory

The results of annual All-Russian Competition for the best Student Dormitory among Russian institutions were announced in Vladimir. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation together with Trade Union of Public Education and Science Workers of the Russian Federation organized the event.

Competition is aimed to reveal the best methods of student dormitories maintenance in higher education organizations of Russia, creation of social, residential, household problems regulations by students, as well as conditions for healthy lifestyle and sports for students who live in dormitories.

Originally, more than 250 institutions of the Russian Federation filed an application for the Competition. Many institutions did not pass the stage of laws and regulation base and correspondence of this information in official web pages of institutions. As the result of a thorough jury’s work, only 6 institutions made it to the finals. PSLU turned out to be the only one finalist from the South of Russia (North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts).

Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University won the first position and the single prize position for the work organization of the whole range of parameters.

Other finalists became winners in the following categories:

The best social organization of a student dormitory – S.A. Yesenin Ryazan State University;
The best infrastructure of a dormitory – Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University;
The best organization of student self-government body in a dormitory – Tula State University;
The best organization of extra-curricular work in a dormitory – Omsk State Pedagogical University;
The best realization of federal law in a dormitory – G.I. Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University.

PSLU was represented by the dormitory #3 manager Olga Vladimirovna Slavnova, and students Andzhella Biboeva and Nikos Topuzidis.
