Participation of PSU Students in Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament has started an active work.

The second meeting of the Youth Parliament took place at Stavropol Krai Duma. Duma’s Speaker Gannadiy Yagubov, Duma deputies Valentina Muravyova, Andrey Yudin, Igor Lavrov took part in the meeting.

Organizational issues which according to Gennadiy Yagubov “determine the further Parliament work, interaction with deputies, and parliaments of other regions” were on the agenda. So, today Youth Parliament regulations, list, members, and committees chairmen, as well as work pan were adopted.

According to the collegial decision of young parliamentarians, seven different committees were formed in different fields which are of interest for the youth. However, Genndiy Yagubov said that their activity will fully reflect timely issues of economy, agricultural and industrial complex, and communal service. He also offered paying more attention to these directions: “All issues are interconnected and are closely related to the youth policy. Besides, we need to know your opinion about the problems in these fields.” The list of committees was adopted considering the offers announced.

There was also information about the experience of the Youth Parliaments of the Russian Federation subjects. Parliamentarians analyzed activity of their colleagues in 19 regions and took some interesting ideas and timely legislative initiatives.

Within the framework of the meeting young parliamentarians got acquainted with the work order of legislative acts, during which the Duma lawyers drew their attention that legislative activity needs quality, not quantity.

The work was terminated with a presentation of a scientific and practice publication titled “Etiquette in Communication Culture with Disabled Persons”, with Daria Shevtsova, member of Youth Parliament as a co-author. The work, which has a main goal to eliminate barriers in different social groups communication evoked a big interest among parliamentarians: many of them offered their assistance in the book distribution in Krai cities and regions.

Our university is represented in the Youth Parliament by Ruben Gazanchian and Anastasiya Runova.
