PSU Delegates in XIV Conference of Russia and Germany Partner Cities

The XIV Conference of Russia and Germany Partner Cities under the title of “Establishment of Contacts – initiation of projects – strengthening of trust: impulses for Russian-German Relations” and Youth Forum of Germany and Russia took place fr om 28 to 30 June, 2017.

Mr. Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mr. Gabriel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Mr. Fritch, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany in Russia, and Mr. Kondratiev, Governor of Krasnodar Krai.

The conference worked in four groups:

Work group (1) Economy: Russia and Germany – together we build the future.
Work group (2) Practical experience and perspectives of the municipal collaboration.
Work group (3) Remembering the past for future – contribution of partner-cities into the culture of remembrance in a dialogue.
Work group (4) Collaboration in education, promotion of language studies and youth work.

Professors of Pyatigorsk State University: N.S. Shavkun, Deputy Head of German Studies Chair, M. Wenzel, DAAD lecturer, and N.M. Kashirina, Associate Professor of the Chair of German language took part in the Work Group (4).

At the same time, 9th conference of the scholarship programs graduates of German Service of Academic Exchanges (DAAD) took place in Krasnodar, wh ere N.S. Shavkun was invited in the result of competitive selection.

The conference events included delegates meetings on different levels, welcome reception at Krasnodar Mayor’s office, and at German Ambassador’s, Krasnodar Exposition Center visit, CLAAS enterprise tour, master classes of the leading experts in management Mr. Gerhardt and Mr. Schneider, as well as cultural and sport event. Experience exchange, fruitful work in work groups gave a big impulse to start new projects and implementation of already started ones.
