First-year Students Met with University Administration
On September 13 and 14, 2017, traditional meeting with first-year students and Pyatigorsk State University administration was organized.
PSU Rector, Professor A.P. Gorbunov, Prorector Y.Y. Grankin congratulated the first-year students with entering the leading university of the Russian South and told about the specifics of the university’s education and about available educational opportunities.
The educational work is an important part of the PSU work. E.D. Kondrakova, Rector’s counselor, and L. Arustamian chairwoman of the Council of Students sparkled the interest of new students in the forms of activity which they could take part in. These are different types of competitions, forums, sports, and creative clubs. Any activity type during the education will form the individuality of each student and may help in employment.
This year Pyatigorsk State University enrolled students from 28 regions of the Russian Federation and 8 foreign countries. They all represent different nationalities and cultures, therefore each of them has a task to keep traditions of good-neighborly relations, formed in our multinational city. Student’s safety is another important issue. V.M. Fisenko, deputy head of Pyatigorsk Administration, and V.B. Doroshenko, head of the Department of a Complex Safety of PSU talked about the aspects concerning proper conduct of the youth not only in the university campus but in Pyatigorsk as well.
Representatives of national and cultural association of the city encouraged students to live in peace, take place in city’s events, and support the friendly atmosphere in the university.
– Our university is a center of diverse languages and cultures, here, you can show everything you know, and everything you can do, – said A.P. Gorbunov. – With one hand we open all our richness and diversity; we respect and love each other, and collaborate. With another hand, we hold our cooperation, our friendship, and we will not allow anyone to destroy it.
