An official opening ceremony of Pushkin Institute – Center of Russian Language and Culture took place in Hastings College, Nebraska, USA on November 14, 2017. The Center was formed for development and promotion of Russian language education within the implementation of a federal target program “Russian language” in “Formation and development of Pushkin Institute partner network”. Robert Babcock Professor of History and Russian language became the head of the center.
Together with American colleagues lead by the President of Hastings College Travis Feezell, Professor A.P. Gorbunov, Rector of PSU and Professor V.E. Mishin, Head of the Department of international relations and educational programs took place in the opening.
The participants of guests of the ceremony were interested in a photo exhibition “Instants of Russia” prepared by the Pyatigorsk State University. Delegation members showed video presentations about our university and Pushkin Institute in PSU and made a mini-festival of Russian cinematography.
A substantial experience exchange about the further broadening of an academic collaboration of PSU with American Partner University took place during this visit. New prospects and projects for mutual interest were discussed as well.
