PSU Lectors at the International Seminar of Russian Language Teachers Advanced Training in Gdansk, Poland
21.06.2018On July 15-16, 2018, Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gdansk, Poland held the International Seminar of Russian Language Teachers Advanced Training. Lectors from Pyatigorsk State University were among the organizers of the seminar: O.A. Kovaliova, Director of Higher School of Design and Architecture, I.B. Fedotova, head of the Chair of Linguistic Art and Pedagogic Technologies of Philological Education, and N.A. Orlova, Deputy Director of the Center of International Education.
The Seminar was organized by A.A. Potemkin, Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Gdansk as the result of the agreements signed during the visit of PSU delegation headed by Rector Professor A.P. Gorbunov in University of Warmia and Mazury in December 2017. PSU delegation which included V.E. Mishin, head of the Department of International Ties and Educational Programs, I.B. Fedotova, head of the Pushkin Institute – Center of Russian Language, took part in the opening of the Center of Russian Language and Culture in University of Warmina and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland.
A program of the International Seminar included workshops devoted to the implementation of a didactic and educational potential of a Russian song and Russian dance, presentation of the Russian language academic aid in a friend conversation “Tell about Everything” (Ioanna Mampe, co-author of the aid, PhD in Philology, Gdansk University) and “Multimedia Project and their Significance in Russian Language as Foreign Study” (Lyudmila Shipelevich, Professor of Russian Studies Institute at Warsaw University).
Exhibition of the photographers and artists of Pyatigorsk called “Masters and Students” was another part of the seminar’s programs. The works of the Higher School of Design and Architecture lectors were represented in the exhibition. The works of the Members of Creative Union of Russian Artists and Union of Russian Designers, Georgiy Mikhailovich Avakov, Anatoliy Nikolaevich Lisogurskiy, Aleksandr Ivanovich Gladskikh and others, as well as their students. The exhibition gathered a lot of guests including journalists, students, and Director of Gdansk National Museum, who appreciated the artists’ works and offered organization of a bigger exhibition in a National Museum.
At the end of the seminar, all the participants met at the round-table to discuss “Peculiarities of the Russian Language Teaching in Different Cultural Environments”.
This international seminar is an important cultural and educational event in Gdansk, and participation of Pyatigorsk State University in the organization of the seminar shows a broadening of the university’s international activity.
