Attaché for Education from the Spanish Embassy in the Russian Federation Visits PSU
On November 29, José Aurelio Llaneza Villanueva, Attaché for Education at the Spanish Embassy in the Russian Federation paid a working visit to Pyatigorsk State University.
During his meeting with Professor Y.Y. Grankin, Prorector for Academic policy, education and informatization quality control, V.E. Mishin, head of the Department of International Ties and Educational Programs, E.N. Pronchenko, Director of IRGLIHT, I.A. Kobyakova, head of the Chair of Spanish Studies and International Communication, Attaché discussed the prospects of the further collaboration with Pyatigorsk Spanish school. They touched upon a strategic mission of PSU and its active introduction into the international educational space, as well as the use of its interaction with foreign partners.
Mr. Llaneza’s visit to our region was aimed at the popularization of Spanish language and culture, improvement of the teaching staff’s level, spreading of virtual didactic materials as well as the organization of cultural and educational events within the frameworks of the Spanish-Russian bilateral year.
Terminating his visit, Mr. Llaneza had a tour by the PSU history museum and some structural subdivisions of the university, paying a special attention to IRGLIHT and its Center of Spanish Language and Culture. He also met with students and lectors of the Department of Spanish and English Languages and took part in a cultural event. In addition to this, Mr. Llaneza visited Discussion Club of Spanish Language and Culture, headed by Nuria Galan Sosa, Spanish lector, whose activity at the Chair of Spanish Studies and Intercultural Communication is implemented within a memorandum of mutual understanding between Spanish Agency for International Collaboration and Pyatigorsk State University.
