Russian Diplomats’ Day at the Institute of International Relations
Russian Diplomats’ Day is a professional holiday which is celebrated on February 10.
On this occasion, every year Institute of International Relations at Pyatigorsk State University organizes meetings of students, masters, and postgraduates of the institute with officers of Diplomatic service of Russian, many of whom are PSU graduates.
On February 12, 2019, IIR organized the next meeting of students with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Mineralnye Vody: Maria Krutineva, third secretary, Deputy Head of the Representation, and Vladimir Shiryaev, the attache of the Representation, PSU graduate of 2012. This meeting was devoted to the 470 anniversary of Russian diplomatic service formation.
Students of International Relations Institute prepared a video where they congratulated Russian diplomats on their professional holiday in all six UN official languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and French. All of them are taught in the Institute of International Relations, as well as German and Turkish.
The meeting lasted 3 hours. It included an interesting discussion, where the guests of the Institute as well as its director Professor V.N. Panin, Doctor of Political Sciences, told about contemporary direction of the Russian Federation foreign policy, those requirements and demands put forward for Russian diplomats, and told about the opportunities of professional self-fulfillment in different fields of international relations.
During the meeting, the Scientific Department of the Student Council held an international relations quiz, giving prizes to the winners.
