Training Laboratories Opening at Institute of Foreign Languages and International Tourism (IFLIT)
On March 6, 2019, a significant event took place at Institute of Foreign Languages and International Tourism (IFLIT): Professor A.P. Gorbunov, Rector of Pyatigorsk State University ceremoniously opened a complex of training laboratories for practice classes of students majoring in Hotel Industry, Hospitality Industry, Tourism. New classrooms are equipped with modern “training devices”, audiovisual facilities, and match a unique design.
The following laboratories were launched:
1. “Hotel Suite Room” training classroom (335) (entrance lobby, bathroom, sleeping-room, living-room), with a full-size bed, bedside-table, armchairs, writing-desk, toilet table, sliding door wardrobe, professional fabric, etc. Bathroom, lobby, and a living-room are equipped with standard hotel facilities and furniture with all necessary components and accessories.
2. “Reception” training classroom (119) has a reception desk with a PC with “Shelter” automatic hotel online-booking module installed, multimedia projection device, and others.
3. “Training Restaurant and Bar” laboratory (111) is equipped with professional dish sets, accessories, and informational stands.
4. Tour operator and tourist agency laboratory (113) possesses an illuminated world map, 15 computers, tourists reception zone, a point of information.
These laboratories and training classrooms will host classes of a professional cycle and professional modules disciplines. Training laboratories will allow lectors to give efficient and memorable interactive classes, using the newest educational technologies which include business games, case methods, professional training, and it will allow students to work fruitfully on different scientific and creative projects, work out innovational products, and to get ready to the WorldSkillsRussia championships in “Hotel Administration” and “Tourism”.
Significant assistance in training laboratories equipment was rendered by Hilton Garden Inn Moscow New Riga, which the Chair of Tourism and Hospitality Industry has been fruitfully collaborating with since 2013.
IFLIT administration, teaching staff of the Chair of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, students majoring in Hotel Industry, Hospitality Industry, and Tourism express a sincere gratitude and appreciation to the university administration for this outstanding present, which will allow implementing of a maximum efficient training of young human resources at a whole new level in accordance with the best world standards.
