A Round-Table “We Are For a Healthy Lifestyle” Took Place in the Center of International Education
On May 15, 2019, a round-table titled “We Are For a Healthy Lifestyle” took place in the Center of International Education as a part of the Matryoshka club’s work. The event was organized by N.A. Orlova, Deputy Director of CIE, Associate Professor at the Chair of Literature and Pedagogic Technologies of Philological Education.
American students Alison Marie Malone and Brett Stuart Malone read a lecture about the benefits of sport, nutrition, harmful effects of alcohol and drugs. Foreign students of the Center of International Education were involved in the interesting discussion about the timely issue, sharing with pleasure their positive experience concerning healthy lifestyle and sports. Some students of CIE took part in different sports events at regional, city, and university levels (Alison Marie Malone, Brett Stuart Malone, Anne Elizabeth Berry, Robert Matthew Cash, Alex Kramer Yan Yan-Balah, Eli Wilkerson Moyer, Hollie Shannon Moyer).
V.V. Mnatsakanian, Rector’s assistant for interaction with international organizations was among the guests of the event. He made his concluding remarks, underlining the importance of a healthy lifestyle and giving up bad habits.
The events like these, organized by the Center of International Education reflect the strategy of Pyatigorsk State University in physical education and sports – “Physical culture and sports are an important part of the student life. Being an athlete means to live a healthy lifestyle, to build strong character and an iron will."
