Two professors from Pyatigorsk State University, Nikolay Baryshnikov and Vyacheslav Shulzhenko, took part in the II World Congress “East-West: the Intersection of Cultures”, which took place in Kyoto, Japan. The meetings were organized in Kyoto-Sangyo University, the world ranking scientific level of which automatically provided the forum’s materials with Scopus citation. The participants also contributed to this. There were representatives from a leading university of Europe, USA, and Pacific Region, which made every performance a true scientific event.

The reports of our professors made a great impression on the participants and evoked a lot of questions, and discussions in the case of V.E. Shulzhenko. RAS Academician, V.M. Alpatov, Chairman of Literature Science Section said, that the facts provided by V.E. Shulzhenko allow saying about “geographic” refocusing of contemporary Russian literature.

The congress organizers offered a rich cultural program, which provided for a deeper understanding of the uniqueness of Japanese people, including their cuisine.

Congress’s collected papers were published right before the beginning. One of the copies will go to the scientific library of PSU.
