Пятигорский государственный университет открыл Центр русского языка и культуры в Польше
On December 7, 2017, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn held an opening ceremony of Pushkin Institute Center of the Russian Language and Culture, formed by Pyatigorsk State University together with the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
Iwona Anna Ndiaye, Professor of the Institute of Eastern Slavonic Studies of University of Warmia and Mazury headed Pushkin Institute.
The Center was formed within the Federal program “Russian Language 2016-2020” in “Formation and development of a partner network of Pushkin Institute” with the main purpose of development and promotion of the Russian language and Culture in a world educational space and education in the Russian language. PSU, together with Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language is one of the institutions who acquired permission for this project implementation.
The opening ceremony gathered together Professor A.P. Gorbunov, Rector of Pyatigorsk State University, Professor V.E. Mishin, head of the Department of International Ties and Educational Programs, Professor I.B. Fedotova, head of the Chair of linguistic arts and pedagogic technologies of philological education, director of Pushkin Institute in PSU and their Polish colleagues.
The Days of Russian Language and Cultures devoted to the opening of the Pushkin Institute saw the presentation of Pyatigorsk State University, Pushkin Institute activity, and presentation “A.S. Pushkin in poems and songs” prepared by the Students of University of Warmia and Mazury, “Instants of Russia” photo exhibition opening.
Lectors and students of the Polish University were interested a lot in a presentation held by Professor I.B. Fedotova about the mass online course “Russian Writers of XIX-beginning of XX centuries and the Caucasus” (A.S. Pushkin, M.Y. Lermontov, L.N. Tolstoy) and Symbols of Russian Culture.
PSU delegation discussed academic collaboration directions of mutual interest, certain scientific and education project in intercultural communication, history, and international relation with the heads of the departments of UWM.
This is the 9th Center of the Russian Language and Culture, opened by Pyatigorsk State University together with foreign partner universities. We remind that since 2016 Pushkin Institute – Centers of the Russian Language and Culture have been formed in Italy, Egypt, China, Spain, Portugal (2 centers), Croatia, and the USA.
