“Dialogue of Cultures” Russian-American Project Starts
“Dialogue of Cultures” Russian-American Project successfully started, joining International Relations Institute students and Hastings College, Nebraska, USA, a long-term partner of our university. The project aims at the mutual understanding between Russian and American students, the acquaintance with contemporary realities of Russia and the United States, as well as for more profound knowledge of culture, traditions, and student life of our countries.
Skype helped to have a direct conversation. Due to this software, it is able to travel the ocean, thousands of kilometers, and 8 hours time difference.
During the first meeting, in a lively conversation students told about their personal educational experience in their cities.
The meetings like these are planned to be organized two times a semester.
The project is directed by History Professor Robert Babcock, our university guest and a great enthusiast of Russian language, and Professor of Political Sciences and International Relations Sabina Pavlovska-Hilaiel from the American side. In PSU the project is directed by T.V. Kara-Kazaryan, head of the Chair of European Languages, supported by the Department of International Relations.
