The Day of Diplomatic Worker at Pyatigorsk State University
10.02.2020The Day of Russian Diplomatic Worker is a professional holiday of all Russian diplomats, which is celebrated on February 10.
On this occasion, the Institute of International Relations organizes meetings of students, masters, and postgraduates of the Institute with current employees of diplomatic corps of Russia, some of them are IIR graduates.
On February 10, 2020, the Institute of International Relations held a meeting with an attaché of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Representation in Mineralnye Vody, IIR graduate in 2012, Vladimir Anatolievich Shiryaev.
IIR students prepared a video presentation about the history of this holiday and video congratulation on the professional holiday in all six official languages of the UN: English, Arab, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and French. All of them as well as German, and Turkish are taught at IIR.
During the meeting an interesting discussion took place. Vladimir Shiryaev and V.N. Panin, Director of IIR, Doctor of Political Sciences, told about contemporary directions of Russian foreign policy, the requirements, and qualities shown by the Russian diplomats, as well as opportunities of professional self-fulfillment in different fields of international relations.
B.M. Gokzhaev, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary, the first head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Representation in Rostov-on-Don, Honorary Professor of PSU, graduate of our university, as well as L.S. Filimonov, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Representation in Mineralnye Vody, who were among the founders and who did a lot for the Institute of International Relations at Pyatigorsk State University.
