PSU Delegation Takes Part in Hugh Dellar Seminar on “Getting the Most from Your Coursebook”

On October 23-24, 2021, Rostov-on-Don held a series of seminars on “Getting the Most from Your Coursebook”, as performed by Hugh Dellar, a British professor, teacher with more than 20 years of experience, trainer, materials writer, supervisor of the Center of English Language TEFL at the Westminster University, co-founder of one of the top educational linguistic platforms LexicalLab. Together with Andrew Walkey, Hugh Dellar is an author of world-famous methodological materials on English, like Innovations, Outcomes, and Perspectives, published by National Geographic Learning (part of Cengage Learning), as well as Teaching Lexically by Delta Publishing, which has recently gained world popularity.

The event gathered the leading pedagogues, methodologists from more than 20 regions of the Russian Federation. Our university was represented by Armen Vartanov, Prorector for the Strategic development, management of the innovational environment and regional cooperation, and Aleksandr Bagiyan, Associate Professor at the Chair of English Language and Professional Communication, Academic Director of North Caucasus Examination Center.

The experience acquired within the training is been already integrated into the work of the North Caucasus Examination Center on the level of student training for certified Cambridge English exams and DELE Spanish exams, as well as on the level of experts training in the field of methodology of foreign language and culture teaching (with future Cambridge Exam passing following Teaching Knowledge Test method).

The delegation has also established a partnership with LexicalLab platform management in order to cooperate further in the field of strategically important University directions of Language Development & Teacher Development Programmes.
