IV Международная научно-практическая конференция «Инновационные технологии и креативность в исследовании и преподавании иностранных языков и культур прошла в онлайн-формате в ПГУ
12.11.2021On November 11-12, 2021, Pyatigorsk State University held “Innovational Technologies and Creativity in the Foreign Languages and Cultures Study and Teaching” – the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference.
The conference is a part of a series of events of the Year of Germany in Russia 2020-2021 and is devoted to the annual festival of the German Embassy in Russia “Days of Germany in Russian regions”, as well as to the 60th anniversary of the Department of German Language at our university.
The scientific and practical conference is aimed at the formation of a unified scientific and educational space for the cooperation of school teachers, university lecturers, leading Russian scholars in order to investigate the prospects of contemporary linguistic and linguodidactic working-outs efficient utilization in a process of foreign languages and cultures teaching to a wider audience, experience exchange on the issues of construction and use of innovational educational technologies in school and university practice, discussion of creative models of the foreign language teaching, which would increase the teaching quality.
The plenary meeting was opened by the Rector of PSU Professor Aleksandr Gorbunov. He said his welcome speech to the participants and organizers of the conference: Professor E.N. Pronchenko, Director of the Institute of Romance and German Languages, Humanitarian and Informational Technologies, and Associate Professor N.S. Shavkun, Head of the Chair of German Studies and Intercultural Communication.
The conference gathered participants from 6 foreign countries: Germany (4 reports + 1 workshop), Hungary (1 report), Italy (1 report), Israel (1 workshop), Great Britain (1 report). The Russian Federation was represented by the members from the higher schools and education facilities of Moscow, Tver, Arkhangelsk, Novosibirsk, Petrozavodsk, Ufa, Sevastopol, Rostov-on-Don, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Krasnodar, Vladikavkaz, Stavropol, and Pyatigorsk (61 reports).
The plenary meeting was held in Russian and German.
The German reports were performed by:
Simona Leonardi (University of Genoa, Italy), report: “Variation bei Interjektionen: Beschreibungen und Verschriftlichungen.” Professor Simona Leonardi works at the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Genoa. She is engaged with studies in the field of narrative and colloquial analysis, historical semantics, and pragmatics.
Ottó Korencsy (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary), report: “Inklusiver Sprachgebrauch und der translatologische Umgang.” Ottó Korencsy, Professor at the Institute of German Philology at (Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Doctor of Philological Sciences, European Parliament interpreter. His area of expertise includes lexicology and terminology.
Jan Christian Schaffert (FWB Göttingen, Germany), report: “Das onomasiologische Feld des Frühneuhochdeutschen als digitales Netzwerk.” Jan Christian Schaffert is a research officer at GAUG, Department of Classic Research at Georg August University of Göttingen (Germany). Master of Arts. He is involved in the onomasiology and theory of a word field in the synergy with the analysis of digital networks, based on the Early New High German Dictionary.
Jana-Katarina Mende (Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, report: “Das mehrsprachige historische Wort aus semantischer und zeichentheoretischer Perspektive.” Dr. Jana-Katarina Mende works at Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg in Germany. The area of her expertise includes: German language history study, historical linguistics of texts and discourse in the German studies.
Margarita Evgenyevna Morozova (Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor at the Chair of German Studies and Intercultural Communication at Pyatigorsk State University, Russia) and Korin Sabine (lecturer of DAAD at Pyatigorsk State University, Pyatigorsk, Russia) with a report on “Diskurs der literarischen Einsamkeitsfiguren.” Professor M.E. Morozova is engaged with discourse studies in German linguoculturology, stylistics of German language, text linguistics, sociolinguistics.
Larisa Nikolaevna Yagupova (Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor at the Chair of German Philology at Donetsk National University, People’s Republic of Donetsk), report: “Zu den Wortbildungstypen und Funktionsklassen der Substantive. Dargestellt am Beispiel der un-ø/ (е)-Derivate im mittelhochdeutschen Handschriftenkorpus.” The area of L.N. Yagupova’s expertise includes historic word-forming, historic semantics, historic corpus linguistics, dialectology, stylistics of German, text linguistics, sociolinguistics.
The Russian reports were performed by:
Veronika Viktorovna Katermina (Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor at the Chair of English Philology at Kuban State University, Russia) and Sofia Kristoforovna Lipiridi (Lecturer at the Chair of English Philology at Kuban State University, Russia), report: “Vocabulary of the Coronavirus Pandemic as a Reflection of Social Evolution.” The area of expertise of V.V. Katermina and her student S.K. Lipiridi includes linguistic models of social and political communication in online space: discourse fields, patterns, and hybrid methodology, and the network data analysis.
Tatyana Aleksandrovna Shiryaeva (Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Chair of English Language and Professional Communication at Pyatigorsk State University, Russia), report: “Integrated Teaching of Professional Content in English as a Response to the Contemporary Challenges in the Professional Education.” Professor T.A. Shiryaeva’s area of expertise includes institutional discourse studies of professional communication; linguocognitive modeling of professional discourse; conceptual linguoprojecting of professional identity; contemporary methods and innovational technologies of the profession-guided foreign languages teaching; psychological and pedagogical peculiarities of the educational process intensification in the foreign languages teaching.
At the end of the first conference day Inna Furman (Levenchuk), Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Director of the Online Center of German onlinedeutsch.ru held a workshop from Israel on “Remote Class of a Foreign Language: from a concept to online-teaching tools.” The plenary meeting was moderated by Sabine Korin, lecturer of DAAD in Pyatigorsk.
The second day of the conference began with 3 workshops, which gathered 80 listeners.
Workshop I. “Corpus Technologies in Linguistics”, moderated by Elena Borisovna Krotova, research officer of the German languages section at the Institute of Linguistics and RAS, Candidate of Philological Sciences.
Workshop II. “Professional Development of a Foreign Language Teacher in Modern Times: linguoaxiological aspect”, moderated by Aleksandr Yurievich Bagiyan, Associate Professor at the Chair of English Language and Professional Communication at Pyatigorsk State University, Candidate of Philological Sciences.
Workshop III. “Musik im (Landeskunde) Unterricht”, moderated by Carsten Grunwaldt, lecturer of DAAD at North Caucasus Federal University, Stavropol, Russia.
The second conference day ended with the work in three sections:
Section no.1 “Language, Individual, and Society: Discourse and Practice”, supervised by Professor T.A. Shiryaeva, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Head of the Chair of English Language at PSU, Russia, and Professor V.V. Katermina, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor at the Chair of English Philology at KSU, Russia.
Section no.2 “Language and Thinking in Contemporary Civilization Space”, supervised by Associate Professor V.F. Belova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor at the Chair of German Studies and Intercultural Communication at PSU, and Associate Professor L.N. Yagupova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor at the Chair of German Philology at DNU, PRD.
Section no.3 “Innovative Technologies of Foreign Languages Teaching”, supervised by Associate Professor E.N. Pronchenko, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor at the Chair of Spanish Studies and Intercultural Communication at PSU, and A.E. Mirzakhanova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor at the Chair of German Studies and Intercultural Communication at PSU.
Two collected papers are going to be published based on the conference results: HAC collected papers philijournal.ru in Timely Problems of Philology and Pedagogical Linguistics journal and RSCI collected papers in Professional Communication: Timely Problems of Linguistics and Methodology, scientific and practical journal (issue no.15), ISSN 2411-3719.
The International Scientific and Practical Conference on Innovational Technologies and Creativity in the Foreign Languages and Cultures Study and Teaching was only organized in difficult conditions thanks to the efforts of each officer for a common goal, great enthusiasm, and pandemic-caused necessary flexibility. The members invited to the conference from different regions of Russia and foreign countries understood the situation and put their hearts into the organization.
