Конференция «Русское слово в международном образовательном пространстве: история и современность»

On November 24-25, 2021, the Institute of Translatology, Russian Studies, and Multilingualism successfully held an international conference together with the University of Warmua and Mazury, Poland, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, Croatia on “Russian Word in the International Educational Space: History and the Present.”

The conference was held as backed by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation within the implementation of a project called “Russian Language Wins Over the Global Space.” 74 Russian and 104 foreign members sent their applications and materials for the conference. There were Russian and foreign teaching staff of the higher education facilities, teachers of Russian language and literature in schools and Russian language schools abroad, postgraduates, masters, and students. The most active researchers represented Poland, China, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and others (in total 16 countries). The conference took place online (using ZOOM) and offline.

The members of the conference were welcomed by the Rector of Pyatigorsk State University, Professor Aleksandr Gorbunov, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Viktor Mishin, Candidate of Political Sciences, Head of the Department of International Relations and Educational Programs, Professor Zbigniew Chojnowski, Doctor of Humanities, Director of the Institute of Literature Studies at the University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland), and Professor Renata Šamo, Ph.D., Vice-dean for Philosophy Department at Juraj Dobrila University of Pula (Croatia).

The plenary meeting saw the report performances of Professor Anna Iwona Ndiaye, Ph.D. (Poland), Associate Professor Nina Orlova, Candidate of Sciences (Russia), Professor Irena Mikulaco, Ph.D. (Croatia), Irina Fedotova, Doctor of Sciences, Head of the Chair (Russia), Professor Aleksandr Petrenko, Candidate of Sciences (Russia), Associate Professor Gayane Kuregyan, Candidate of Sciences (Russia).

The conference members discussed the timely issues of contemporary Russian studies and comparativistics (moderated by Gayane Kuregyan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Literature and Pedagogical Technologies of Philological Education), the problems of teaching and studying the Russian literature, as means to promote the Russian language (moderated by Professor Aleksandr Petrenko). The work of a section devoted to the problems of Russian to foreign students was the most fruitful (moderated by Irina Fedotova, Head of the Chair). The representatives of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, performed in the section “Russian Word through the Eyes of Polish Researchers.” The section was supervised by Professor Anna Iwona Ndiaye, Ph.D., Head of the Chair of East Slavonic Literature at the Institute of Literature Studies of University of Warmia and Mazury, and Nina Orlova, Associate Professor at the Chair of Literature and Pedagogic Technologies of Philological Education.

The conference was supported by supervised by Professor Elvira Kondrakova, Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences, Rector’s Advisor for educational and extracurricular work, Head of the Department of social competencies, civic education, and training of graduates for employment and future career.
